TRAVERSING THE LANDSCAPE
GRAHAM McKENZIE: RETROSPECTIVE
23–26 October 2025
14 Langridge Street, Melbourne
You are warmly invited to an intimate retrospective celebrating the evocative practice of Graham McKenzie (b. 1943 – d. 2019)
Spanning decades of deeply personal inquiry, Traversing the Landscape: Graham McKenzie, A Retrospective offers a rare opportunity to encounter the full breadth of McKenzie's visual language — one that oscillates between abstraction and figuration, memory and place, presence and loss.
With a palette anchored in earthy ochres, blues and greens of sky and bush, and luminous whites, McKenzie’s layered surfaces speak to time: of things buried, revealed, and imagined. What emerges is not just a body of work, but a terrain — atmospheric, tender, and unmistakably Australian.
Held in the raw, light-filled space at 14 Langridge Street, the exhibition gathers key works from the artist’s own archive, many of which have never been exhibited together. It is a celebration of McKenzie’s enduring commitment to painting, making and thinking as a vessel for interior worlds and embodied landscapes.
Please join us in honouring the quiet depth and poetic force of this remarkable artist.
